Root Foundation for Peace Initiative (RF4PI) is a Nigerian civil society organisation focused on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. We work where research, dialogue and action meet: studying conflict, generating evidence that can be used, and working with others to turn evidence into practical steps toward peace.
We see research as a starting point, not an end point. We combine evidence with local knowledge and field experience to understand problems and support responses that fit the context.
WHY RF4PI
Conflict prevention requires more than responding after violence occurs. It requires understanding risks early, listening to affected communities, strengthening institutions and using evidence to shape better decisions.
RF4PI brings these elements together through a practical think-and-do approach.
Our Vision
A Nigeria, and a region where conflict is prevented before it turns violent, and where people and institutions have fair and trusted ways to resolve disagreement without violence.
Our Mission
To generate evidence on what drives conflict and work with communities, institutions and decision-makers to turn that evidence into action that prevents violence and builds peace.
Our Value
Independence — We follow the evidence and maintain the integrity of our analysis.
Rigour — We apply professional standards to our research and learning.
Local Knowledge — We build evidence with people affected by conflict, not only about them.
Accountability — We communicate honestly about our work, results, challenges and lessons.
